Sink
Types
Stainless steel
This is the most popular choice of material. Stainless steel sinks are relatively easy to clean and are quite durable. These sinks can get scratched. Some are available in a “linen” or anti-scratch finish, but this only applies to the surface of the drainer and not the bowl.
Ceramic
This material is more often specified for traditional style kitchens as it is used to manufacture “Butler” or “Belfast” sinks. It is also used to manufacture more conventional inset and undermounted sinks.
“Granite”
These sinks are made of powdered granite mixed with a resin. This type of sink is available in a wide range of colours and renowned for being very durable. The colour of these sinks goes all the way through the material and chips in the surface are hardly noticeable unlike the enamel sinks of old.
